To 1970's bungalow in Pill previously extended.

Brief
The existing bungalow had an awkward layout which had been previously extended and was now in a state of desrepair. The spaces were not suitable for a growing family. Shape Design was instructed to come up with a new layout with the aim of remodelling the property to provide a spacious family home incorporating key aspects such as an additional bedroom plus ensuite and a playroom. Also due to budget the design needed to enable staged building.

Proposals & design features
The proposed layout included a large open plan kitchen, dining and family area part of which could be closed off. A large glazed gable to the end elevation provided views over the extensive gardens. There were various site constraints that had to be carefully designed around and planned for including a sharp drop in ground level to the boundary and an overhead electrical mains cable which passed over the new extension. The design can be split into three main parts enabling a three stage build to suit the programme.
